The start of the Premier League season is a little over a month away and as a result clubs have returned to training to get fighting fit ahead of the new campaign.
The Manchester United team were at Carrington on Friday, where they were put through their paces by boss Jose Mourinho.
Here are five players who stood out ahead of the new season.
1. Anthony Martial
There were suggestions Martial could be leaving Manchester United this summer amid claims he was unhappy at the club and didn't see eye to eye with Mourinho.
Mourinho has an abundance of attacking players, and has found fitting the Frenchman into his team difficult at times.
Martial's lack of game time also resulted in him being overlooked by France boss Didier Deschamps for the World Cup finals this summer, fuelling the speculation.
But upon hitting the training ground on Friday, Martial looked refreshed and ready to go. Best of all though he looked happy, and pleased to be there.
Back in 2016, Mourinho spoke out about Martial when he was linked with a loan spell away. He said: "I know he's a top talent but he needs to listen to me, not his agent.
He needs to listen to me in training, where I try to improve the players."
Martial seems to have taken his manager's advice on board.
2. Eric Bailly
Like Martial, Bailly found game time hard to come by towards the end of last season.
But unlike Martial, who was benched so that big-money signing Alexis Sanchez could be accommodated, Bailly apparently fell out with his boss.
Up until that point he was head and shoulders above any other player at the club capable of doing a job at centre-back, which was proved in the FA Cup final.
Last season is behind us now - behind Bailly, and perhaps more importantly, behind Mourinho.
Pre-season training provides the perfect opportunity to start afresh and show the boss what you're made of. And it seems Bailly is doing exactly this.
3. Angel Gomes
The youngster's popularity is growing in England, but it's important to remember Gomes is still only 17.
That said, we've seen an influx of quality young English players coming to the fore in recent months - everyone from Manchester City's Phil Foden to Ryan Sessegnon, who helped Fulham gain promotion.
Gomes, who possesses a terrifying amount of potential, will want his name mentioned more prominently alongside these next generation of footballers.
And there is no better time to catch Mourinho's eye than right now, when he has yet to decide which players he wants to afford time to this season.
Sure, Gomes is young and Mourinho likes big names. But let's not forget that he was also only too happy to bring through Scott McTominay last season.
4. Lee Grant
Eyebrows were raised when Manchester United signed Lee Grant.
And not surprisingly, after all, the 35-year-old goalkeeper played back-up to Jack Butland for Stoke City last season, who were relegated from the Premier League.
To make matters worse he featured only three time.
Mourinho explained that he wanted to sign a reliable keeper as a third choice - an emergency basically - behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
He also explained that in signing Grant it will enable him to send Joel Pereira out on loan for some much-needed first team football.
And, the transfer cost Manchester United nothing. So it's win, win, win.
But Grant will have other amibitions. He revealed it was his dream to play for a club the size of Manchester United upon putting pen to paper with the Old Trafford club.
Of course, De Gea is in no danger of being ousted, but Grant will want to convince Mourinho he made a good decision in signing him and that he can be called upon to perform if required to do so.
5. Antonio Valencia
The right-back was one of Mourinho's stand-out players last season.
But loyalty isn't something the Portuguese has much time for these days, so last season's form won't stand for much going into the new campaign.
What's more Mourinho has recently splashed out a lot of cash to land Portuguese prospect Diogo Dalot, who just so happens to play in Valencia's position.
As thing stand we wouldn't say Valencia is under threat. It will take some time for Dalot to be at the level required to kick him out of the first team.
That said, Valencia will know better than anyone that he is getting older and that there is a new kid on the block.
So it's no surprise he's putting the work in to impress his new boss.
