Inconsistency might End up Killing Lil Kesh’s career

But what do we say of ? One of the most promising acts Nigeria had in 2015. He wasn’t only promising, he was also believed to have been ripped off the “Next Rated” Award, which was given to Mavins star, . Everyone knew that was true. “” was nothing to compare to the monster hit, “Efejoku“, let alone other hits the guy pulled through. “Gbese Re”, “Shoki”, “Lyrically and many more.
Inconsistency might End up Killing Lil Kesh's career
Last week, I saw a post on Facebook which stated that it was ’s conduct at the Headies, that year that made Kesh not get any nomination, this year. Maybe he’s been blacklisted. While he has a point, it’s very important to know that Lil Kesh doesn’t have any banger, that can make him worthy of any Award.
In 2016, he dropped his acclaimed “Young And Getting It” Album, with many hits, including the popular “Cause Trouble“, “Ishe“, “Semilore“, “I Fuck Shit Up” and “Problem Child. The album, was clearly a success. He had got a “Best Rap Album” nomination, for it.
But, then, he left YBNL, and his career went another direction. Not necessarily downhill, but with what he has, sooner or later, it might go downhill (Which we don’t pray for)..
After leaving YBNL in 2016, he became more positive, and adopted a more commercial style of sing. But, at the end of 2017, people still think he deserves some accolades. And, that was because he was hyper-consistent. Think of jams he dropped, “Shele Gan Gan“, “No Fake Love“, “For You“, “Kojo“, “Rora“, “Baby Favour and many more. Those were what kept him at top of the game, in those one and a half year.
What does the future hold for Kesh, in 2018? He only has a mild hit, Apa Mi, and a guest verse on a Zlatan song. What else? Nothing.
But, he should just know, once we get him out of our sub-conscious, it’ll be hard to be fans, again. We’ll let Nature play it’s part!
